If I don’t see my friends, I draw them
Durante los tiempos del confinamiento, especialmente al final del periodo de alarma por el Covid19, decidí que cuando una no puede ver o tocar a sus amigos, puede, por lo menos, dibujarlos. Además de practicar un poco en esto del retrato -que nunca viene mal ;-)- , el grafito tiene una implicación táctil que rompe con la virtualidad de los mensajes y videollamadas a las que venía acostumbrándome. Y eso sí que viene bien.
Aquí van algunos de estos amigos a los que me he podido acercar gracias al tiempo invertido en estos retratos rápidos, a partir de fotografías que me han ido enviando y la memoria (a veces graciosa y traicionera). A todos ellos, GRACIAS por permitirme compartir estos instantes durante mayo y junio de 2020 (iré actualizando):

During the times of confinement, especially at the end of the Covid19 alarm period, I decided that when you can’t see or touch your friends, you can at least draw them. In addition to practicing a bit about portraiture -which never hurts – graphite has a tactile implication that breaks with the virtuality of the messages and video calls that I was getting used to. And that really feels good.
Here are some of these friends that I have been able to get closer to thanks to the time invested in these quick portraits, from photographs that have been sent to me and the memory (sometimes funny and treacherous). To all of them, THANK YOU for allowing me to share these moments during May and June 2020 (I will update)
